Actor Pierce Brosnan has appeared in dozens of blockbuster films, from classics like Mrs. Doubtfire and The Thomas Crown Affair to the iconic James Bond series, in which he played 007 himself. Offscreen, he’s also a dedicated environmentalist and activist, with a special focus on the world’s oceans and coastal ecosystems.

This past December, Brosnan and OTZ principal investigator Heidi Sosik sat down (virtually) on @TED's Instagram Live to chat about their shared interests: the ocean’s twilight zone, its impact on climate change, and the actions we can all take to protect it.
