Logistics
Following is logistical information to start your planning for the OTZ Sympoisium in Woods Hole September 13-20, 2023.
Location
Plenary sessions will take place in Redfield Auditorium (Water Street, Village campus) and poster sessions and smaller group activities will take place in Davids Center (Woods Hole Road, Quissett Campus).
Bus Schedule
There will be shuttle buses to transport participants between the Village and Quissett Campuses and from/to the hotels. The schedule for the buses is below but please be aware that traffic and load/unload times can cause this to vary.
Daily Morning Schedule
7:00 Pick Up at Holiday Inn
7:10 Pick up at Inn on the Square
7:20 Pick up at Clark Parking lot on WHOI campus
7:30 Drop off at Redfield
8:00 Pick up at Holiday Inn
8:10 Pick up at Inn on the Square

Night Schedule
Wednesday night - shuttels will start at 7:30
Thursday nighy - shuttles will transport participants from Redifield to Davids center and then back to hotels starting at 7:00
Friday night - shuttles to hotles at 5 and then again at 8:30
Monday night - shuttles will transport participants from Redifield to Davids center and then back to hotels starting at 7:00
Tuesday night - shuttels will start at 7:30
Wednesday night - shuttles back at 5:00
Food
We will provide breakfasts, lunches, and two evening receptions, Wednesday September 13th and Tuesday September 19th under a tent outside Redfield. There will be heavy snacks and drinks available at the poster sessions on Thursday September 14th and Monday September 18th.
Air Travel
Be sure to check the bus schedule before booking your air travel. The two airports nearest to Woods Hole are Boston Logan Airport (BOS) and Providence T.F. Green Airport (PVD). Both airports are just under 80 miles from Woods Hole and offer bus service to Woods Hole. We recommend the Boston Logan Airport (more buses) and the Plymouth and Brockton Bus Company (don't have to pick one time to travel).
Ground Transportation and Ride Sharing
Ground transportation
The buses from the Boston airport run regularly (and recently there is now a Plymouth and Brockton bus from TF Green in Providence), http://peterpanbus.com or https://www.p-b.com/wh-to-bsn-lgn-web-schedule/, have stops close to the Sands of Time Motor Inn in Woods Hole and the Inn on the Square in Falmouth. Put in Boston Logan Airport (or T.F. Green Airport) and then Woods Hole or Falmouth on their web sites to get the correct schedule. The bus stop for “scheduled buses” can be found right outside each terminal at Boston Logan Airport. If you take the Peter Pan Bus, or Plymouth and Brockton buses, and you are staying at the Holiday Inn, you will require a taxi from the Falmouth bus station.

About the Meeting Site
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) is located in Woods Hole, MA. Woods Hole is approximately 75 miles south of Boston on Cape Cod. It is surrounded by the waters of Martha’s Vineyard Sound and Buzzards Bay and just a few miles south of Falmouth, which is typically New England (village green, Main Street and a Congregational Church with a bell cast by Paul Revere).
Restaurants
For meals on your own, there are 6 restaurants right in Woods Hole outside of the continental breakfasts, lunches, and two receptions we will provide at the meeting. The Inn on the Square and Holiday Inn also have their own restaurants, and downtown Falmouth has many restaurants as well.
